Mr. Jan Pierce, MBA was born and raised in Utah.  He founded BIOCETT in March 2009, and is President and CEO of BIOCETT.  He is a co-founder of another biotechnology company.  Mr Pierce has over 30 years of experience in healthcare, biotechnology, cell and tissue manufacturing, tissue banking, regulatory affairs and business.  He has been a board member and served as chair and a committee  member of various councils and commitees at the American Association of Tissue Banks.   Mr. Pierce has worked in healthcare and surgical services for over 30 years and spent 20 of those years working in hospital administration and management at the University of Utah.   Over the past several years, he worked as Vice President of U.S. Tissue & Cell, Director of Business Development at AlloSource, and managed business relationships with major medical device companies including Medtronic, Stryker Spine, Abbott Spine, NuVasive, Blackstone Medical, Globus, etc.   He has held positions on the Board of Directors for a research & development company, medical device company, and three non-profit organizations.  He has been a consultant for health care organizations, biotechnology and medical device companies for the past 20 years.  He has been the principle investigator for two (2) research projects, and co-investigators in many other clinical trials.  He has authored and co-authored many scientific publications, book chapters, abstracts and posters.  He has written several Investigational New Drug (IND), Chemistry Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) sections, and clinical IND applications for FDA Phase I/II clinical trials.  He has issued patents and trademarks from the United States Patent and Trade Office.  He is currently a member of the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team,  President of the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Board of Directors,  and Senior Director of the University of Utah's Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine program.  He earned a Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Utah and later received his Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA).
